Mobile manufactures like Samsung, SonyEricsson and LG are almost set to release their high-end camera smart phones Pixon12, Staio and Louvre respectively into world market. All these phones will be equipped with 12 mega pixel auto focus cameras. So if you are going to purchase a smartphone and a digital camera, you may consider buying any of theses handsets which includes all the necessary features of a multimedia phone and HD quality camera.

• Samsung Pixon12 is the successor of Pixon8. Here the 8 mega pixel camera in the Pixon8 seen an upgrade to 12 mega pixel. The camera has both Xenon and LED flashes for both still image and video recording. . 4000 x 3000 pixels wide HD quality still images are the main plus point of Samsung Pixon12. But this quality is not available on video recording. I used the term “smartphones” at the beginning of this post, but actually Samsung Pixon12 is not one and is an exception from other two phones. Also it misses good stereo speakers for music playback. Samsung Pixon12 uses TouchWiz 2.0 enabled 3.1 large touch screen, and will be capable of playing all popular file formats including DivX and Xvid. • Satio will be the flagship product of SonyEricsson in 12 mega pixel camera phone market. The phone was in news for the last few months as SonyEricsson Idou, till the recent change in name to Satio. SonyEricsson Satio offers a 12 MP, 4000 x 3000 pixels, and autofocus camera with xenon flash and LED flash for videos. Though it can be used take HD images, video are only limited to VGA quality. But here, VGA quality videos achieved by a phone the will the best in category.Unlike Samsung Pixon12, SonyEricsson Satio will be powered by S60 V5 Symbian OS found in Nokia N97 and 5800 Xpress music. The advantage is large number of applications and smartphone capabilities. The large 3.5 inch screen and design has similarity to Windows mobile based SonyEricsson Xperia X1. ARM based CPU comes with inbuilt 3D Graphics HW Accelerator. So users can experience videos to great clarity and play graphics intensive games. SonyEricsson walkman music player and Satio media center adds to the over all multimedia experience.

But as per the rumors it will be the best 12 mega pixel camera in the market for including Schneider Kreuznach lens with HD video recording capabilities. Other than normal HD still images, Louvre will be capable of recording HD video clips (1280 x 720 pixels) at 30 fps. The phone will be having a touch based UI. . But now there is no clues regarding the use Symbian S60 OS V5.

Verdict: In camera sense, LG Louvre is the best. Applications and multimedia possibilities seem more advantageous in Satio. Samsung Pixon12 would the choice of people who are looking for a comparatively low cost 12 mega pixel camera phone. But ultimately the price factor will affect the sales and acceptances of each phone.
